Hi! We’re Claire & Lauren! Welcome to The Inspired Treehouse!

What if play could be used in a whole new way?

Play is one of the most powerful tools we have as pediatric therapists.

Through play, kids practice:
-problem solving
-motor skills
-social interaction
-communication
-self-regulation
-and more!

Play is how children naturally explore the world and develop new skills.

But many therapy environments don’t leave space for the kind of play that allows kids to truly engage. We've heard from hundreds of therapists whose biggest frustration with their jobs is the distraction of paperwork and documentation that takes their focus away from connecting with kids.

Over the past several years, we’ve been exploring what happens when therapists get a chance to fully lean into play without all of these distractions.

Next week we’ll be sharing something that shows therapists how to do exactly that — using their playful and creative instincts in a completely different way that isolates all of the best parts of therapy, while getting rid of the parts that lead to burnout and frustration.

But first, we wanted to share a free resource to help spread the word about play as an evidence based tool for supporting healthy development in kids! This downloadable guide highlights the research on play and includes simple activity examples that show how play supports development.
